Cookie Policy — ZakatSuite.com

Effective Date: January 1, 2025 · Last Updated: January 1, 2025

This Cookie Policy explains what cookies are, how ZakatSuite (zakatsuite.com) uses them, and the choices you have. We use cookies to enhance your experience when using our free Zakat calculators and tools — never to track your financial data.

Important: Currency and language preferences are stored in your browser’s local storage — not in cookies — meaning they are never transmitted to our servers. Your financial calculation inputs are processed entirely in your browser.

Essential

Keep the site working correctly. Cannot be disabled without affecting functionality.

📊

Analytics

Anonymised usage data to help us improve our Zakat tools for all users.

📢

Advertising

Google AdSense ads that help keep ZakatSuite permanently free for everyone.

Section 1

What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They help websites remember your preferences, understand how visitors use the site, and serve relevant content.

ZakatSuite also uses local storage — a browser technology similar to cookies but stored only on your device and never transmitted to our servers. We use local storage to remember your selected currency (e.g. PKR, USD, SAR) and language between visits. See our multi-currency Zakat calculator to see this in action.

Section 3

Third-Party Cookies in Detail

Google AdSense

ZakatSuite displays Google AdSense advertisements. These ads help keep all 200+ tools permanently free. Google may use cookies including IDE and NID to personalise ads based on your browsing history.

You can opt out of personalised Google ads at adssettings.google.com. This does not remove ads — it makes them less personalised.

Google Analytics

We use anonymised Google Analytics to understand aggregate usage patterns — which Zakat tools are used most, how users navigate between the Zakat Computation Guide and the calculator, and where we can improve. No personally identifiable information is collected.

Opt out using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

Google Fonts

ZakatSuite loads DM Serif Display and DM Sans from Google Fonts. Google may set a short-lived session cookie when fonts are loaded to detect abuse of their font service.

PayPal

If you click the donation link, PayPal will set its own cookies on the PayPal domain governed by PayPal’s Privacy Policy. We do not control these.

Section 4

Managing & Disabling Cookies

You can control and delete cookies through your browser settings. Instructions for popular browsers:

⚠️ Note: Clearing your browser’s local storage will reset your saved currency and language preferences — you will need to reselect your currency on your next visit. This does not affect the accuracy of Zakat calculations.

For more granular cookie control, browser extensions such as Privacy Badger or uBlock Origin can block third-party cookies from Google AdSense and Analytics while still allowing ZakatSuite to function.

Section 5

Your Rights

EU/UK residents (GDPR): You have the right to access, delete, or restrict the processing of your data. You may lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

California residents (CCPA): You have the right to know what data is collected and opt out of its sale. ZakatSuite does not sell personal data.

To exercise your rights or ask any questions about our cookie practices, please see our Privacy Policy or contact us through zakatsuite.com.

Section 6

Updates to This Cookie Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy when we change the cookies we use, add new third-party services, or when laws and regulations require updates. We will update the “Last Updated” date at the top. Significant changes will be announced on the ZakatSuite homepage.

FAQ

Cookies — Frequently Asked Questions

Does ZakatSuite track what I enter in the calculators?
No. Your financial inputs in any ZakatSuite calculator — gold value, cash, crypto, business assets — are processed entirely in your browser. No cookie or tracking technology captures what you enter. Your Zakat amounts remain private.
Why does ZakatSuite use Google AdSense cookies?
Google AdSense is how ZakatSuite generates revenue to stay free. Ad cookies help Google show relevant ads and prevent the same ad from repeating too often. If you prefer, you can manage ad personalisation at adssettings.google.com.
If I clear my cookies, will my Zakat calculations be lost?
No. ZakatSuite never stores your calculations in cookies or on our servers. Clearing cookies will only reset your saved currency and language preferences — you will need to re-select your currency (e.g. PKR or SAR) on your next visit.
Can I use ZakatSuite with cookies completely disabled?
Yes. The core Zakat calculators work without cookies. You will lose persistent currency/language preferences (you will need to reselect each visit), and some ad functionality may behave differently. All calculation features remain fully functional. Try the multi-currency calculator.
Does ZakatSuite sell cookie data to advertisers?
No. ZakatSuite does not sell any data — cookie data or otherwise. Google AdSense independently manages advertising cookies under Google’s own privacy framework. See our full Privacy Policy for details.
