Zakat Calculator Bahrain (BHD)

Welcome to the BH home of ZakatSuite — the fast page for Zakat in Bahrain, priced throughout in BHD. Below: the Nisab in BHD at reference prices, a worked example in Bahraini dinar, the channels people in Bahrain actually pay through, what counts as zakatable wealth here, and the Ramadan 2027 dates. Need the complete method as well? The full Bahrain guide walks the calculation step by step in BHD.

Today's Nisab values in BHD (indicative)

The arithmetic for Bahrain starts per gram: gold at BHD 29, silver at BHD 0, from reference prices of USD 76.42/g and USD 0.98/g at 0.376 BHD per dollar. Multiply up: 87.48 grams of gold puts the gold Nisab at BHD 2,514, and 612.36 grams of silver puts the silver Nisab at BHD 226. Both are indicative snapshots — the binding threshold is the live one on your due date, which the calculators fetch in BHD when you run them.

A worked example in BHD

Take a concrete case in Bahrain: a resident holds 125 grams of gold — worth about BHD 3,592 at the indicative per-gram price on this page — plus BHD 338 in savings. Combined zakatable wealth is BHD 3,930. That clears the Nisab comfortably and, after a full lunar year, the Zakat is 2.5% of the combined figure: BHD 98. Notice that the gold is not tested against the gold Nisab on its own here — in a mixed portfolio the assets are valued together in BHD and tested once, which is how the calculators on this page proceed.

Paying Zakat in Bahrain: practical channels

As a rule, payers settle their Zakat through a small number of well-worn channels: bank transfer to registered Zakat charities, local Zakat committees that collect and distribute within the community and mosque collections, especially around Jumu'ah and during Ramadan. The route changes nothing about the amount — net wealth tested against the BHD Nisab (BHD 226 on the silver standard) and charged at 2.5% — so pick for reliability: proper identification of eligible recipients, and full transfer of ownership. Payers who give internationally should confirm that the receiving end is Zakat-eligible and not a general appeal, and keep the confirmation alongside the PDF report for that year.

What counts as zakatable wealth in Bahrain

The zakatable list for a payer in Bahrain is the universal one — cash, deposits, gold and silver however held, trading stock, money owed to you, and investments priced in BHD at market value. Excluded by agreement: the home you live in, your car, furniture and personal effects, and wealth you do not truly own or cannot access. The order never changes in Bahrain: and the worked example above shows the shape of it in Bahrain: 125 grams of gold and a savings balance, combined, tested once, and charged at 2.5% after a hawl.

Ramadan 2027 in Bahrain

Ramadan 2027 is expected to open on Monday 8 February 2027 in Bahrain as elsewhere, subject to the sighting of the new moon and the announcement followed locally. The closing ten nights begin at Maghrib on 27 February 2027, and Laylat al-Qadr is sought on the odd nights that open on 27 February, 1, 3, 5 and 7 March with the 27th night opening the evening of Friday 5 March 2027. The last fast is expected on 8 or 9 March 2027, followed by Eid al-Fitr on 9–10 March 2027. Day-by-day fasting times are listed in the Ramadan 2027 timetable for Bahrain — Manama; remember that Fitrana is due before the Eid prayer, not after it. In Manama, day one runs from Fajr 04:53 to Maghrib 17:25.

Frequently asked questions

What is the gold Nisab in BHD?

Indicatively the gold Nisab is BHD 2,514, the value of 87.48 grams of gold priced at BHD 29 the gram. It is a moving figure by design: so recheck it when you calculate — a month-old figure can be wrong in either direction. Of the two thresholds it is the higher, it is the relevant one for wealth held purely as gold under all schools.

Which Nisab should I use in Bahrain — gold or silver?

With cash and mixed holdings, start with silver (BHD 226) because it obligates more wealth and benefits more poor people. Gold-only wealth is tested against the gold Nisab by agreement. Between BHD 226 and BHD 2,514 the choice is the duty, precisely so that borderline cases in Bahrain can be settled knowingly, with a scholar, instead of by default.

When is Zakat due for payers in Bahrain?

On the anniversary, counted in the lunar calendar, of the day your wealth first reached the Nisab in Bahrain. Count it in lunar years of 354 days; in Gregorian terms the date arrives about eleven days sooner each year. Many people in Bahrain choose Ramadan for the reward — Ramadan 2027 begins on 8 February 2027 — pay the coming year's duty early rather than this year's late: the hawl, not the season, sets the deadline.

Can I pay Zakat online from Bahrain?

Yes, and most online giving from Bahrain flows through the channels described on this page. Two conditions govern it: that the recipient is Zakat-eligible under Quran 9:60 and that ownership of the money genuinely passes to them or their appointed agent. Use a platform's Zakat-specific fund where one exists, keep the confirmation email or receipt with your calculation report, and record the Hijri date of payment as well as the Gregorian one.

Where can I find Sehri and Iftar times for Bahrain in Ramadan 2027?

Every day's six times for the capital — Fajr to Isha — are tabulated on the Ramadan 2027 timetable for Bahrain, with Sehri (Fajr), Sunrise, Dhuhr, Asr, Iftar (Maghrib) and Isha for every day from 8 February 2027 onwards. Times are calculated for the capital; in a country in the Asia region, local timetables adjust for where in Bahrain you actually fast.
