Zakat Calculator Bangladesh (BDT)

Welcome to the BD home of ZakatSuite — the fast page for Zakat in Bangladesh, priced throughout in BDT. Everything here is in BDT: the Nisab converted at reference metal prices, an example calculation in Bangladeshi taka, the usual ways people pay in Bangladesh, and Ramadan 2027 with its timetable links. For the long-form guide with the full method, continue to the Bangladesh Zakat guide after this page.

Today's Nisab values in BDT (indicative)

Using the reference prices behind this page (gold USD 76.42/g, silver USD 0.98/g, at 121 BDT per dollar), one gram of gold is worth BDT 9,247 and one gram of silver BDT 119 in Bangladesh. Scaled to the Nisab weights, that is BDT 808,912 for 87.48 grams of gold and BDT 72,614 for 612.36 grams of silver. Both are indicative snapshots — on the due date itself, the live BDT values inside the calculators are the ones that count.

A worked example in BDT

Take a concrete case in Bangladesh: a resident holds 250 grams of gold — worth about BDT 2,311,705 at the indicative per-gram price on this page — plus BDT 108,920 in savings. Combined zakatable wealth is BDT 2,420,625. That clears the Nisab comfortably and, after a full lunar year, the Zakat is 2.5% of the combined figure: BDT 60,516. Notice that the gold is not tested against the gold Nisab on its own here — in a mixed portfolio the assets are valued together in BDT and tested once, which is how the calculators on this page proceed.

Paying Zakat in Bangladesh: practical channels

In Bangladesh today, the Zakat of most households leaves through a small number of well-worn channels: local Zakat committees that collect and distribute within the community, mosque collections, especially around Jumu'ah and during Ramadan and charity platforms and mobile giving apps. What is owed was settled before any channel was chosen — net wealth tested against the BDT Nisab (BDT 72,614 on the silver standard) and charged at 2.5% — so choose for reliability: a channel that identifies eligible recipients properly and transfers ownership fully. Payers who give internationally should confirm that the receiving end is Zakat-eligible and not a general appeal, then file the confirmation with the year's PDF report.

What counts as zakatable wealth in Bangladesh

In Bangladesh, as everywhere, the test falls on owned, accessible wealth: balances, savings, metals in any form, resale stock, business receivables, investments and crypto at market value — with anything held in another currency converted into BDT first. Excluded by agreement: the home you live in, your car, furniture and personal effects, and wealth you do not truly own or cannot access. Debts due are deducted before the threshold is applied, then, if the net total has reached the threshold — BDT 72,614 on the silver standard most scholars apply to cash in Bangladesh and a lunar year has passed over it, 2.5% is the right of the poor in that wealth.

Ramadan 2027 in Bangladesh

Ramadan 1448 should begin on Monday 8 February 2027 across Bangladesh, subject to the crescent's sighting and the announcement your community follows. The closing ten nights begin from Maghrib on 27 February, Laylat al-Qadr being sought on the odd nights — 27 February, then 1, 3, 5 and 7 March — and the 27th night falling on the evening of Friday 5 March 2027. The final fast should fall on 8 or 9 March 2027, followed by Eid al-Fitr on 9–10 March 2027. Daily times are tabulated in the Ramadan 2027 timetable for Bangladesh — Dhaka; remember that Fitrana is due before the Eid prayer, not after it. In Dhaka, day one runs from Fajr 05:19 to Maghrib 17:49. Other cities in Bangladesh with their own calendars: Chattogram, Khulna, Rajshahi, Sylhet — browse them all from the Ramadan 2027 timetables index.

Frequently asked questions

What is the gold Nisab in BDT?

Indicatively the gold Nisab is BDT 808,912, the value of 87.48 grams of gold priced at BDT 9,247 the gram. Gold trades daily, so confirm the amount in the calculator on your due date. The gold threshold is the higher of the two Nisabs; and for wealth held purely as gold it is the agreed test in every school.

Which Nisab should I use in Bangladesh — gold or silver?

With cash and mixed holdings, start with silver (BDT 72,614) — the threshold the majority of contemporary councils advise, in Bangladesh as elsewhere. Gold-only wealth is tested against the gold Nisab by agreement. The calculator displays both BDT figures side by side so take the pair of numbers to a scholar you trust rather than choosing by the size of the bill.

When is Zakat due for payers in Bangladesh?

Your due date is personal, not national: the Hijri anniversary of the day your wealth first reached the Nisab. Count it in lunar years of 354 days; the Gregorian date slides roughly eleven days earlier with each passing year — a payer in Bangladesh who fixed a solar date will drift late without noticing. Aligning payment to Ramadan is common in Bangladesh and permitted — Ramadan 2027 opens on 8 February 2027 — provided an earlier hawl is not left unpaid in the meantime; advance payment is valid, delay without excuse is not.

Can I pay Zakat online from Bangladesh?

Online payment from Bangladesh is well established; what matters is the destination, not the medium. The conditions are that the recipient falls within Quran 9:60's categories, and that the money is truly theirs once sent, not merely pledged. Keep the platform's confirmation with your PDF report for Bangladesh, keep the confirmation email or receipt with your calculation report, and record the Hijri date of payment as well as the Gregorian one.

Where can I find Sehri and Iftar times for Bangladesh in Ramadan 2027?

Every day's six times for the capital — Fajr to Isha — are tabulated on the Ramadan 2027 timetable for Bangladesh, thirty rows for the capital, from the first Fajr on 8 February 2027 to the last Maghrib of the month. Capital times are the reference, not the last word — in a country in the Asia region, local timetables adjust for where in Bangladesh you actually fast.
