This page is the complete Zakat guide for Pakistan, for Zakat calculated and paid in PKR. This page translates the universal rules into that local reality: the way Zakat is commonly paid in Pakistan, a worked example, and the dates and timetable links you need for Ramadan 2027. Everything is free, and the calculators linked from this page run in your browser with live prices, converting the thresholds into PKR on the day you actually calculate.
The two thresholds a payer in Pakistan is judged against, at this guide's reference prices, are PKR 1,861,166 — the value of 87.48 grams of gold at PKR 21,275 per gram — and PKR 167,071, the value of 612.36 grams of silver at PKR 273 per gram, with the conversion running at 278.4 PKR per US dollar. Both are snapshots, not fixtures — on your actual due date the live tool will quote the thresholds afresh in Pakistani rupee. On the silver standard most scholars recommend for cash, a payer in Pakistan whose net savings pass PKR 167,071 for a full lunar year owes 2.5% of the total.
In Pakistan today, the Zakat of most households leaves through a few familiar channels: bank transfer to registered Zakat charities, local Zakat committees that collect and distribute within the community and mosque collections, especially around Jumu'ah and during Ramadan. On every route, Zakat must actually reach people whom Quran 9:60 names as eligible, and become theirs in law and fact (tamlik). A common pattern in Pakistan: the calculation is settled at home, then the payment is split across two or three trusted routes. Put the practical questions first: keep the receipt beside your calculation report, noting the Hijri date of payment beside the Gregorian one. A Zakat-specific fund, where a platform offers one, keeps the money out of general spending — the distinction is recorded in PKR on your statement.
Ramadan 1448 AH is expected to open on Monday 8 February 2027 in Pakistan as elsewhere, subject to the crescent's sighting and the announcement your community follows. The closing ten nights begin with the Maghrib of 27 February 2027, and Laylat al-Qadr is sought on the odd nights (27 February, 1, 3, 5 and 7 March) and the 27th night falling on the evening of Friday 5 March 2027. The final fast should fall on 8 or 9 March 2027, with Eid al-Fitr on 9–10 March 2027. For Islamabad, day one runs from Fajr at 05:35 to Maghrib at 17:45, with the whole month tabulated in the Ramadan 2027 timetable for Pakistan — Islamabad. Other cities in Pakistan with their own calendars: Karachi, Lahore, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Multan — browse them all from the Ramadan 2027 timetables index.
Suppose a saver in Pakistan holds PKR 668,286 held as cash and savings — some 4.0 times the silver Nisab — with nothing owed. The wealth is above the Nisab and has been held for a full lunar year, so the Zakat due is 2.5% × PKR 668,286 = PKR 16,707. Gold, business stock or foreign currency would be added in PKR first, with the 2.5% applied to the combined net total.
On reference prices, the gold threshold is PKR 1,861,166 (87.48 grams of gold) and the silver threshold is PKR 167,071 for 612.36 grams of silver. They are priced from per-gram values of PKR 21,275 for gold and silver at PKR 273 the gram in Pakistan at the 278.4 PKR reference rate. Since prices shift daily, so the live calculator gives the binding figure on your due date; and most scholars test cash against the silver figure.
Zakat in Pakistan is calculated in PKR — the Pakistani rupee. Foreign balances converts into PKR using the rate on your Zakat date and added before the Nisab test — a balance kept in Singapore, for example, enters at its PKR value on that date, not at the rate from when it was earned. The rules themselves do not change with the currency: 2.5% of net zakatable wealth above the Nisab, after one full lunar year.
Total the zakatable side in PKR — cash, savings, gold and silver at today's prices, business stock, investments and money owed to you. Net off debts due, then compare the net figure with the Nisab in PKR — silver first (PKR 167,071). If it reaches the Nisab and a lunar year has passed, pay 2.5% of the net total to eligible recipients — PKR 16,707 on the PKR 668,286 example worked through above.
No fixed figure exists for Pakistan: the duty is one sa' of local staple food (about 2–3 kg of wheat, rice, flour or dates) for each person. Local scholars and councils announce the PKR rate each Ramadan, because it tracks the price of staple food in PKR, not any international figure. Pay it for each person in the household, children included, and deliver it before the Eid prayer. The Fitrana calculator multiplies Pakistan's announced rate by your household size so nobody is missed.
On ZakatSuite, Pakistan sits in the Asia region and its community languages are recorded as Urdu, English. The country code is PK, and the short version of this page is at zakatsuite.com/pk. The full set of 209 tools runs for Pakistan in PKR, so nothing on the platform is closed to a payer here.
