The short-form Pakistan page: everything a payer here needs first, in PKR, without the long guide's full method. Below: the Nisab in PKR at reference prices, a worked example in Pakistani rupee, the channels people in Pakistan actually pay through, what counts as zakatable wealth here, and the Ramadan 2027 dates. Need the complete method as well? The full Pakistan guide walks the calculation step by step in PKR.
At this page's reference prices — PKR 21,275 per gram of gold and PKR 273 per gram of silver, converted at 278.4 PKR per dollar — the two weights price out as follows for Pakistan. So the thresholds a saver in Pakistan watches are PKR 167,071 (silver) and PKR 1,861,166 (gold). Both are indicative snapshots — the calculators fetch live prices the moment you use them, and Zakat law judges your wealth against the Nisab of your actual due date, not of the day you happened to read a web page.
Take a concrete case in Pakistan: a resident holds 200 grams of gold — worth about PKR 4,255,066 at the indicative per-gram price on this page — plus PKR 250,607 in savings. Combined zakatable wealth is PKR 4,505,673. That clears the Nisab comfortably and, after a full lunar year, the Zakat is 2.5% of the combined figure: PKR 112,642. Notice that the gold is not tested against the gold Nisab on its own here — in a mixed portfolio the assets are valued together in PKR and tested once, which is how the calculators on this page proceed.
In daily practice, payers settle their Zakat through a small number of well-worn channels: community collection points and food banks during Ramadan, bank transfer to registered Zakat charities and local Zakat committees that collect and distribute within the community. What is owed was settled before any channel was chosen — net wealth tested against the PKR Nisab (PKR 167,071 on the silver standard) and charged at 2.5% — so pick for reliability: proper identification of eligible recipients, and full transfer of ownership. Payers who give internationally should confirm the recipient end is genuinely Zakat-eligible rather than a general appeal, then file the confirmation with the year's PDF report.
The zakatable list for a payer in Pakistan is the universal one — cash, deposits, gold and silver however held, trading stock, money owed to you, and investments priced in PKR at market value. What does not count: the house, the car, the furniture — as does wealth that is not genuinely yours or not accessible to you. Debts due are deducted before the threshold is applied, value in PKR, deduct what is due, test the net against the Nisab, and charge one-fortieth of the whole net figure once a lunar year has passed.
The Ramadan of 1448 AH is expected to open on Monday 8 February 2027 in Pakistan as elsewhere, pending the sighted crescent and the announcement followed locally. Ramadan's last ten nights start from Maghrib on 27 February, and Laylat al-Qadr is sought on the odd nights that open on 27 February, 1, 3, 5 and 7 March with the 27th night opening the evening of Friday 5 March 2027. Expect the last fast on 8 or 9 March 2027, and Eid al-Fitr on 9–10 March 2027. Daily times are tabulated in the Ramadan 2027 timetable for Pakistan — Islamabad; and Fitrana must reach the poor before the Eid prayer. In Islamabad, day one runs from Fajr 05:35 to Maghrib 17:45. Other cities in Pakistan with their own calendars: Karachi, Lahore, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Multan — browse them all from the Ramadan 2027 timetables index.
On reference prices, PKR 1,861,166 for 87.48 grams of gold at PKR 21,275 per gram. Gold trades daily, and the calculator's live PKR value on your due date is the binding one. Of the two thresholds it is the higher, in Pakistan that is PKR 167,071 at the same reference prices.
For cash, savings and mixed wealth, start with silver (PKR 167,071) since it brings more wealth into the duty and directs more to the poor. Holdings that are gold and nothing else follow the gold Nisab under every school — the disagreement is only about money and mixed wealth. The calculator displays both PKR figures side by side so take the pair of numbers to a scholar you trust rather than choosing by the size of the bill.
On your own hawl date: the Hijri anniversary of the day your net wealth first crossed the Nisab. Count it in lunar years of 354 days; so the Gregorian date moves about eleven days earlier each year. If you pay in Ramadan for the multiplied reward, as many in Pakistan do, pay the coming year's duty early rather than this year's late: the hawl, not the season, sets the deadline.
Yes, and most online giving from Pakistan flows through the channels described on this page. The conditions are that the recipient falls within Quran 9:60's categories, and that the money is truly theirs once sent, not merely pledged. File the receipt with the calculation it settles; the same discipline applies if you also pay from Bahrain on wealth held there, and keep both together for next year's reconciliation.
Every day's six times for the capital — Fajr to Isha — are tabulated on the Ramadan 2027 timetable for Pakistan, with Sehri (Fajr), Sunrise, Dhuhr, Asr, Iftar (Maghrib) and Isha for every day from 8 February 2027 onwards. Capital times are the reference, not the last word — if you live far from it, allow for your local difference or check your mosque's timetable.
