This page is the complete Zakat guide for Poland, for Zakat calculated and paid in PLN. Everything that follows is the universal Shariah method expressed entirely in local terms — the gold and silver Nisab expressed in Polish zloty, how giving is usually organised in Poland, what Ramadan 2027 will look like, and the calculators that do the arithmetic for you. The calculators linked here run in your browser, free, with the Nisab converted into PLN at live metal prices rather than printed from a table that went stale last month.
The two thresholds a payer in Poland is judged against, at this guide's reference prices, are PLN 26,607 — the value of 87.48 grams of gold at PLN 304 per gram — and PLN 2,388, the value of 612.36 grams of silver at PLN 4 per gram, with the conversion running at 3.98 PLN per US dollar. Both are snapshots, not fixtures — metal prices and exchange rates move every day, and the live calculator on this site fetches current prices before it tests your wealth. So the line that matters most in Poland is the silver one, PLN 2,388: cross it with net wealth held for a hawl, and 2.5% of everything above zero — not just of the excess — is due.
As a rule, most Zakat is paid through a few familiar channels: payroll deduction schemes offered by some employers, community collection points and food banks during Ramadan and bank transfer to registered Zakat charities. Whatever the channel, Zakat must actually reach people within the eight categories of Quran 9:60, with ownership genuinely passing to them (tamlik). Plenty of households here calculate at home first, often against a fixed Ramadan date, then spread the payment over two or three trusted channels. Ask distributors how the money is separated, file the confirmation with your PDF report, and check whether administration costs come out of the Zakat itself where an organisation deducts them. In Poland, community life runs in Polish, so instructions left with family should be in the language they actually use.
Ramadan 2027 is expected to begin on Monday 8 February 2027 in Poland, always subject to moon sighting and the announcement followed locally. The last ten nights begin with the Maghrib of 27 February 2027, with Laylat al-Qadr sought on the odd nights (27 February, 1, 3, 5 and 7 March) with the 27th night opening the evening of Friday 5 March 2027. Expect the last fast on 8 or 9 March 2027, with Eid al-Fitr on 9–10 March 2027. Sehri and Iftar times across Poland are collected via the Ramadan 2027 timetables by city, and remember Fitrana falls due before the Eid prayer.
Imagine savings in Poland of PLN 13,136 held as cash and savings — some 5.5 times the silver Nisab — with nothing owed. Above the Nisab and held for a full lunar year, so the Zakat due is 2.5% × PLN 13,136 = PLN 328. If the same saver also held gold, business stock or foreign currency, those values would be added in PLN first and the 2.5% applied to the combined net total.
On reference prices, the gold threshold is PLN 26,607 for 87.48 grams of gold and silver's is PLN 2,388 for 612.36 grams of silver. Those conversions rest on a gold gram at PLN 304 and silver at PLN 4 the gram for Poland, converted at 3.98 PLN to the dollar. Markets move every day, so let the live calculator quote the binding figure on your due date; and most scholars test cash against the silver figure.
Zakat in Poland is calculated in PLN (Polish zloty). Wealth held in other currencies converts into PLN at your due date's rate and added before the Nisab test — a balance kept in Russia, for example, enters at its PLN value on that date, not at the rate from when it was earned. What travels is the method, not the money: the same calculation a payer runs in Russia, settled here in Polish zloty.
Work in PLN throughout: balances, metals at today's price, stock bought for resale, investments and money owed to you. Deduct debts that are due now, then compare the net figure with the Nisab in PLN — silver first (PLN 2,388). A net figure over the threshold, held a full hawl, is charged at 2.5% of the whole amount : on savings of PLN 13,136, the example on this page, the payment is PLN 328.
No fixed figure exists for Poland: it is the local cash value of one sa' of staple food (about 2–3 kg of wheat, rice, flour or dates) for each person. Local scholars and councils set the rate in PLN each year, with announcements commonly made in Polish. Pay it for each person in the household, children included, with the Eid prayer as the deadline. Enter the announced PLN rate in the Fitrana calculator and it totals the household's duty.
