If you live in Spain, or hold your wealth there, this is your starting page — for Zakat calculated and paid in EUR. Everything that follows is the universal Shariah method expressed entirely in local terms — the gold and silver Nisab expressed in Euro, how giving is usually organised in Spain, what Ramadan 2027 will look like, and the calculators that do the arithmetic for you. Everything is free, and the calculators linked from this page run in your browser with live prices, converting the thresholds into EUR on the day you actually calculate.
Priced from the reference metal values behind this guide (gold USD 76.42/g, silver USD 0.98/g, at 0.92 EUR to the dollar), one gram of gold is worth EUR 70 in Spain and one gram of silver EUR 1. The thresholds those prices produce are EUR 6,150 for gold (87.48g) and EUR 552 for silver (612.36g). Both are snapshots, not fixtures — metal prices and exchange rates move every day, and the live calculator on this site fetches current prices before it tests your wealth. On the silver standard most scholars recommend for cash, a payer in Spain whose net savings pass EUR 552 for a full lunar year owes 2.5% of the total.
As a rule, payers settle their Zakat through the same short list of routes: local Zakat committees that collect and distribute within the community, mosque collections, especially around Jumu'ah and during Ramadan and charity platforms and mobile giving apps. On every route, the wealth must reach recipients whom Quran 9:60 names as eligible, and become theirs in law and fact (tamlik). Plenty of households here settle the calculation at home first — often on a fixed Ramadan date — and then distribute through two or three trusted channels rather than one. Ask distributors how the money is separated, keep the receipt beside your calculation report, noting the Hijri date of payment beside the Gregorian one. In Spain, community life runs in Spanish, so instructions left with family should be in the language they actually use.
Ramadan 1448 AH is expected to begin on Monday 8 February 2027 in Spain, pending the sighted crescent and your community's announcement. The last ten nights begin from Maghrib on 27 February, Laylat al-Qadr being sought on the odd nights (27 February, 1, 3, 5 and 7 March) with the 27th night opening the evening of Friday 5 March 2027. Expect the last fast on 8 or 9 March 2027, followed by Eid al-Fitr on 9–10 March 2027. For Madrid, day one runs from Fajr at 06:45 to Maghrib at 18:41, and every day of the month is set out in the Ramadan 2027 timetable for Spain — Madrid.
Take a saver in Spain with EUR 1,546 across cash and savings accounts , roughly 2.8 times the silver Nisab, and no debts due. The wealth is above the Nisab and has been held for a full lunar year, making the Zakat EUR 39 at 2.5%. Gold, business stock or foreign currency would be added in EUR first, with the 2.5% applied to the combined net total.
On reference prices, gold stands at EUR 6,150 — 87.48 grams of gold — and silver's is EUR 552 (612.36 grams of silver). They are priced from a gold gram at EUR 70 and a silver gram at EUR 1 in Spain at the 0.92 EUR reference rate. Since prices shift daily, so use the live calculator for the threshold of your actual due date; and most scholars test cash against the silver figure.
The working currency for Spain is EUR — the Euro. Balances in other currencies converts into EUR at your due date's rate then judged with everything else . Method is portable; money is local: the same calculation a payer runs in Netherlands, settled here in Euro.
Add up everything zakatable you own in EUR — balances, metals at today's price, stock, investments and receivables. Take off the debts due now, then set the net figure against the Nisab — start with the silver figure, EUR 552. A net figure over the threshold, held a full hawl, is charged at 2.5% of the whole amount — EUR 39 on the EUR 1,546 example worked through above.
No fixed figure exists for Spain: it is one sa' of staple (about 2–3 kg of wheat, rice, flour or dates) for each person. Local scholars and councils set the rate in EUR each year, because it tracks the price of staple food in EUR, not any international figure. Pay it for each person in the household, children included, with the Eid prayer as the deadline. The Fitrana calculator on this site multiplies the announced local rate by your household size.
Spain belongs to the Europe region on this site, with Spanish recorded as its community languages. Use code ES for the short page — (zakatsuite.com/es) — and this address for the full guide. The full set of 209 tools runs for Spain in EUR, so nothing on the platform is closed to a payer here.
