Zakat Calculator Kuwait (KWD)

The short-form Kuwait page: everything a payer here needs first, in KWD, without the long guide's full method. Everything here is in KWD: the Nisab converted at reference metal prices, an example calculation in Kuwaiti dinar, the usual ways people pay in Kuwait, and Ramadan 2027 with its timetable links. Need the complete method as well? The full Kuwait guide walks the calculation step by step in KWD.

Today's Nisab values in KWD (indicative)

Using the reference prices behind this page (gold USD 76.42/g, silver USD 0.98/g, at 0.307 KWD per dollar), one gram of gold is worth KWD 23 and one gram of silver KWD 0 in Kuwait. Scaled to the Nisab weights, that is KWD 2,052 for 87.48 grams of gold and KWD 184 for 612.36 grams of silver. Treat the pair as today's guide figures; on the due date itself, the live KWD values inside the calculators are the ones that count.

A worked example in KWD

Take a concrete case in Kuwait: a resident holds 225 grams of gold — worth about KWD 5,279 at the indicative per-gram price on this page — plus KWD 276 in savings. Combined zakatable wealth is KWD 5,555. That clears the Nisab comfortably and, after a full lunar year, the Zakat is 2.5% of the combined figure: KWD 139. Notice that the gold is not tested against the gold Nisab on its own here — in a mixed portfolio the assets are valued together in KWD and tested once, which is how the calculators on this page proceed.

Paying Zakat in Kuwait: practical channels

In daily practice, payers settle their Zakat through the same short list of routes: payroll deduction schemes offered by some employers, community collection points and food banks during Ramadan and bank transfer to registered Zakat charities. What is owed was settled before any channel was chosen when the net wealth met the Nisab and the 2.5% was applied — so pick for reliability: proper identification of eligible recipients, and full transfer of ownership. For international giving, check the recipient end is genuinely Zakat-eligible rather than a general appeal, then file the confirmation with the year's PDF report.

What counts as zakatable wealth in Kuwait

In Kuwait, as everywhere, the test falls on owned, accessible wealth: balances, savings, metals in any form, resale stock, business receivables, investments and crypto at market value — with anything held in another currency converted into KWD first. What does not count: your home in Kuwait, your car, household furniture and personal effects, plus anything you do not truly own or cannot reach. The order never changes in Kuwait: value in KWD, deduct what is due, test the net against the Nisab, and charge one-fortieth of the whole net figure once a lunar year has passed.

Ramadan 2027 in Kuwait

Ramadan 1448 is expected to open on Monday 8 February 2027 in Kuwait as elsewhere, subject to the sighting of the new moon and your community's announcement. The closing ten nights begin from Maghrib on 27 February, and Laylat al-Qadr is sought on the odd nights that open on 27 February, 1, 3, 5 and 7 March with the 27th night opening the evening of Friday 5 March 2027. The last fast is expected on 8 or 9 March 2027, with Eid al-Fitr on 9–10 March 2027. The day-by-day table lives in the Ramadan 2027 timetable for Kuwait — Kuwait City; remember that Fitrana is due before the Eid prayer, not after it. In Kuwait City, day one runs from Fajr 05:12 to Maghrib 17:32.

Frequently asked questions

What is the gold Nisab in KWD?

At this page's reference price, KWD 2,052 — the value of 87.48 grams of gold at KWD 23 per gram. It is a moving figure by design: so recheck it when you calculate — a month-old figure can be wrong in either direction. The gold threshold is the higher of the two Nisabs; and for wealth held purely as gold it is the agreed test in every school.

Which Nisab should I use in Kuwait — gold or silver?

With cash and mixed holdings, the widely recommended standard is silver — KWD 184 at reference prices because it obligates more wealth and benefits more poor people. Wealth held purely as gold is a different case: there, all schools test against the gold threshold (KWD 2,052). If your wealth sits between the two thresholds, so take the pair of numbers to a scholar you trust rather than choosing by the size of the bill.

When is Zakat due for payers in Kuwait?

On your own hawl date: of the day your wealth first reached the Nisab in Kuwait. The lunar year is 354 days, the Gregorian date slides roughly eleven days earlier with each passing year — a payer in Kuwait who fixed a solar date will drift late without noticing. Aligning payment to Ramadan is common in Kuwait and permitted — Ramadan 2027 opens on 8 February 2027 — but paying in Ramadan does not move a hawl that fell earlier; paying early is permitted, paying late without excuse is not.

Can I pay Zakat online from Kuwait?

Yes — the channels listed above are exactly how most Zakat now leaves Kuwait, and online payment changes nothing about the duty itself. The conditions are that the recipient is Zakat-eligible under Quran 9:60 and that ownership of the money genuinely passes to them or their appointed agent. Keep the platform's confirmation with your PDF report for Kuwait, and note the Hijri date beside the Gregorian one — future-you, reconciling next year's hawl, will be grateful.

Where can I find Sehri and Iftar times for Kuwait in Ramadan 2027?

The full 30-day table for the capital is on the Ramadan 2027 timetable for Kuwait, thirty rows for the capital, from the first Fajr on 8 February 2027 to the last Maghrib of the month. Capital times are the reference, not the last word — across Kuwait, minutes shift with longitude, and your local mosque's published times win any close argument.
