Zakat Calculator Qatar (QAR)

Welcome to the QA home of ZakatSuite — the fast page for Zakat in Qatar, priced throughout in QAR. Below: the Nisab in QAR at reference prices, a worked example in Qatari riyal, the channels people in Qatar actually pay through, what counts as zakatable wealth here, and the Ramadan 2027 dates. For the long-form guide with the full method, continue to the Qatar Zakat guide after this page.

Today's Nisab values in QAR (indicative)

At this page's reference prices — QAR 278 per gram of gold and QAR 4 per gram of silver, converted at 3.64 QAR per dollar — the two weights price out as follows for Qatar. Multiply up: 87.48 grams of gold puts the gold Nisab at QAR 24,334, and 612.36 grams of silver puts the silver Nisab at QAR 2,184. Treat the pair as today's guide figures; the calculators fetch live prices the moment you use them, and Zakat law judges your wealth against the Nisab of your actual due date, not of the day you happened to read a web page.

A worked example in QAR

Take a concrete case in Qatar: a resident holds 275 grams of gold — worth about QAR 76,496 at the indicative per-gram price on this page — plus QAR 3,277 in savings. Combined zakatable wealth is QAR 79,773. That clears the Nisab comfortably and, after a full lunar year, the Zakat is 2.5% of the combined figure: QAR 1,994. Notice that the gold is not tested against the gold Nisab on its own here — in a mixed portfolio the assets are valued together in QAR and tested once, which is how the calculators on this page proceed.

Paying Zakat in Qatar: practical channels

In Qatar today, most Zakat is paid through the same short list of routes: local Zakat committees that collect and distribute within the community, mosque collections, especially around Jumu'ah and during Ramadan and charity platforms and mobile giving apps. The route changes nothing about the amount — net wealth tested against the QAR Nisab (QAR 2,184 on the silver standard) and charged at 2.5% — so choose for reliability: a channel that identifies eligible recipients properly and transfers ownership fully. Payers who give internationally should confirm that the receiving end is Zakat-eligible and not a general appeal, and keep the confirmation alongside the PDF report for that year.

What counts as zakatable wealth in Qatar

What counts in Qatar is what counts everywhere: cash in hand and in the bank, savings and deposits, gold and silver in any form, stock bought for resale, business inventory and receivables, investments and crypto at market value — all of it converted into QAR where necessary. What does not count: the house, the car, the furniture — as does wealth that is not genuinely yours or not accessible to you. Debts due are deducted before the threshold is applied, then, if the net total has reached the threshold — QAR 2,184 on the silver standard most scholars apply to cash in Qatar and a lunar year has passed over it, 2.5% is the right of the poor in that wealth.

Ramadan 2027 in Qatar

Ramadan 2027 is planned from Monday 8 February 2027 in Qatar as elsewhere, subject to the crescent's sighting which local announcements confirm. The final ten nights open from Maghrib on 27 February, and Laylat al-Qadr is sought on the odd nights — 27 February, then 1, 3, 5 and 7 March — the likeliest, the 27th, opening on the evening of Friday 5 March 2027. The final fast should fall on 8 or 9 March 2027, with Eid al-Fitr on 9–10 March 2027. Daily times are tabulated in the Ramadan 2027 timetable for Qatar — Doha; and Fitrana must reach the poor before the Eid prayer. In Doha, day one runs from Fajr 04:56 to Maghrib 17:23.

Frequently asked questions

What is the gold Nisab in QAR?

On reference prices, the gold Nisab is QAR 24,334, the value of 87.48 grams of gold at the reference QAR 278 per gram used on this page. The live figure moves with the gold market, so confirm the amount in the calculator on your due date. Of the two thresholds it is the higher, and for wealth held purely as gold it is the agreed test in every school.

Which Nisab should I use in Qatar — gold or silver?

For money-like wealth in Qatar, start with silver (QAR 2,184) because it obligates more wealth and benefits more poor people. Wealth held purely as gold is a different case: there, all schools test against the gold threshold (QAR 24,334). The calculator displays both QAR figures side by side so take the pair of numbers to a scholar you trust rather than choosing by the size of the bill.

When is Zakat due for payers in Qatar?

Your due date is personal, not national: the Hijri anniversary of the day your wealth first reached the Nisab. Count it in lunar years of 354 days; the Gregorian date slides roughly eleven days earlier with each passing year — a payer in Qatar who fixed a solar date will drift late without noticing. Aligning payment to Ramadan is common in Qatar and permitted — Ramadan 2027 opens on 8 February 2027 — but paying in Ramadan does not move a hawl that fell earlier; paying early is permitted, paying late without excuse is not.

Can I pay Zakat online from Qatar?

Online payment from Qatar is well established; what matters is the destination, not the medium. Two conditions govern it: that the recipient falls within Quran 9:60's categories, and that the money is truly theirs once sent, not merely pledged. Use a platform's Zakat-specific fund where one exists, and note the Hijri date beside the Gregorian one — future-you, reconciling next year's hawl, will be grateful.

Where can I find Sehri and Iftar times for Qatar in Ramadan 2027?

Every day's six times for the capital — Fajr to Isha — are tabulated on the Ramadan 2027 timetable for Qatar, starting 8 February 2027. The table is computed for the capital, so distance matters: across Qatar, minutes shift with longitude, and your local mosque's published times win any close argument.
