For Medan, the table below prints every fasting day of Ramadan 1448 AH — Sehri, Sunrise, Dhuhr, both Asr times, Iftar and Isha for each of the month's thirty days, 8 February 2027 to Tue, 9 Mar 2027. Expected boundaries for Indonesia: a first fast on Monday 8 February 2027, subject to the crescent, and Eid al-Fitr around 9–10 March 2027. In Medan the opening fast lasts 13 hours 19 minutes and the closing one 13 hours 21 minutes; and ends at 13 hours 21 minutes on day 30 (Fajr 05:17, Maghrib 18:38). The calculation point is Medan (3.60, 98.67) and the method is Kementerian Agama Republik Indonesia (Asia/Jakarta) — treat the rows as exact for Medan and as a close guide elsewhere in Indonesia.
Each row of the Medan table is one fast: the fast begins at Fajr, so Sehri — the pre-dawn meal the Prophet ﷺ called a blessing — must finish by the Fajr time in the Sehri column, 05:20 on day 1 and 05:17 on day 30, and many families stop eating a few minutes earlier as a precaution. Nothing is eaten or drunk from Fajr until Maghrib, the fast is then broken at Iftar, classically with dates and water before the prayer. The abstinence in Medan lasts 13 hours 19 minutes at the month's opening and 13 hours 21 minutes at its close. Watch the drift across the rows: Fajr moves 3 minutes earlier in total and Maghrib 1 minutes later, a minute or two at a time, which is why a printed time from the first week should never be reused in the last. Inside these rows sit the odd nights of the last ten days — opening at Maghrib on 27 February, 1, 3, 5 and 7 March — when Laylat al-Qadr is sought; the 27th night opens at Maghrib on 5 March, which in Medan is the 18:39 Iftar of Ramadan day 26's row, and its fast follows at Fajr 05:17.

Whichever madhab you follow in Medan, your fast itself does not move. Sehri (Fajr) and Iftar (Maghrib) are shared by Hanafi, Shafi'i, Maliki and Hanbali alike — in Medan that is 05:20 and 18:39 on the first day and 05:17 and 18:38 on the last. Asr is the difference: 16:00 on day 1 for Shafi'i, Maliki and Hanbali (shadow equal to length), 16:59 for Hanafi (shadow twice the length), a gap of 59 minutes that widens or narrows only slightly by day 30 (15:48 against 16:54, 66 minutes). Choose your madhab once on the live page and the Asr column, the Today box and the downloadable PDF all follow it — the Sehri and Iftar columns will not change, because they were never in dispute.
For Jafari readers in Medan, the live page carries a separate Jafari tab built from this same table. Applied to Medan: day 1 Sehri 05:10 (Fajr 05:20 minus 10) and Iftar 18:51 (Maghrib 18:39 plus 12); day 30 Sehri 05:07 and Iftar 18:50. The adjustment touches only the two ends of the fast; it does not move Dhuhr, Asr or Isha, and it is presented as Jafari fiqh practice so that no reader mistakes a precautionary time for the Fajr or Maghrib of the main method.
Dua at Sehri (intention): Wa bi-sawmi ghadin nawytu min shahri Ramadan — "I intend to keep the fast for tomorrow in the month of Ramadan." Dua at Iftar: Allahumma inni laka sumtu wa bika aamantu wa 'alayka tawakkaltu wa 'ala rizqika aftartu — "O Allah, I fasted for You, I believe in You, I trust in You, and I break my fast with the provision You have given." Keep both short duas by the table in Medan: the first is said quietly with the intention before Fajr (05:20 on day 1), the second at the moment of Iftar, with dates and water, before the Maghrib prayer. In the last ten nights add the Laylat al-Qadr dua taught by the Prophet: Allahumma innaka 'afuwwun tuhibbul-'afwa fa'fu 'anni — "O Allah, You are Pardoning and You love pardon, so pardon me."
About these times in Medan: the Kementerian Agama Republik Indonesia method, applied to Medan itself (3.60, 98.67, Asia/Jakarta), produces the whole table; it is not a national average and it is not copied from a neighbouring city. Times are printed to the minute, as calculated; a one-minute precaution at Sehri and Iftar is a long-standing local practice in many communities, and your mosque's timetable — which may already include it — takes precedence in any close call.
The thirtieth row is insurance, not a promise. Ramadan closes at 29 days if the new crescent is sighted on that evening, and only runs to the Tue, 9 Mar 2027 row — Fajr 05:17, Maghrib 18:38 in Medan — if it is not. an Eid announced in Indonesia after 29 fasts retires the last row unused, and its 18:38 Iftar in Medan never happens. If Indonesia's start is announced a day later than 8 February 2027, the whole table shifts by one row — the times move with the dates. Calculation methods also matter more at the edges of the day than in the middle: the Kementerian Agama Republik Indonesia convention fixes the sun angles for Fajr and Isha used for Medan, while Dhuhr, Asr and Maghrib follow the sun directly, which is why timetables from different sources agree on Iftar to the minute but sometimes differ slightly at Fajr and Isha.
For workers on physical shifts in Medan, plan around the month's shape: the month's fasts here span 13 hours 18 minutes to 13 hours 21 minutes. That is manageable for most healthy adults, but illness, medication, pregnancy and travel each carry their own ruling, and no timetable can see your circumstances. Guides linked below work through the exemptions and what replaces a missed fast — Fidya or Qaza — and a scholar in Indonesia can apply them to your case. May Allah accept your fasts, your night prayers and your giving this month.
The expected first fast in Medan is Monday 8 February 2027, subject to the sighting of the new moon and the official announcement followed in Indonesia. A one-day slip in the start moves the whole table by one row: the month begins a day later and every date in this table shifts by one day — the times themselves, computed for Medan, barely move between neighbouring days.
On day 1 (Mon, 8 Feb 2027, 1 Ramaḍān 1448), Sehri ends at Fajr, at 05:20 (Mon, 8 Feb 2027), and the fast is broken at Maghrib 18:39. That first fast lasts 13 hours 19 minutes. By the last day of the table Fajr has moved to 05:17 and Maghrib to 18:38, so check the row for each day rather than reusing the day-1 times.
This calendar uses the Kementerian Agama Republik Indonesia method, the convention customary in Indonesia, with times computed for Medan (Asia/Jakarta, 3.60, 98.67). Fajr gives the Sehri end time and Maghrib gives Iftar; the method's sun angles are what fix Fajr at 05:20 and Isha at 19:50 on day 1, while Dhuhr (12:39) and Maghrib follow the sun directly. Communities and mosques occasionally adjust by a minute or two for precaution, so treat your local mosque's timetable as final where it differs slightly. A branded PDF calendar for Medan, in the madhab you select, can be downloaded from the live version of this page.
Only Asr changes with the madhab in Medan; Fajr (Sehri) and Maghrib (Iftar) are identical for everyone. In Medan on day 1 that is 16:00 for Shafi'i, Maliki and Hanbali worshippers and 16:59 for Hanafi worshippers — 59 minutes apart. The Shafi'i, Maliki and Hanbali position starts Asr when the shadow matches the object's height; the Hanafi position starts it when the shadow reaches twice the height, which is why the Hanafi time always falls later. If you pray in congregation, follow your mosque's column; the printed table keeps both so a household of mixed madhabs can still share one calendar.
In Medan the month peaks on day 24: 13 hours 21 minutes from Fajr 05:18 to Maghrib 18:39 (Wed, 3 Mar 2027). Day 1 lasts 13 hours 19 minutes and the last day 13 hours 21 minutes, with the shortest fast — day 3, 13 hours 18 minutes — in between. Sitting close to the equator (latitude 3.6), Medan sees only gentle changes across the month — dawn and sunset move by minutes rather than hours, and the fast stays close to 13 hours 19 minutes from the first row to the last.
The Jafari tab on this page applies the customary precaution: Sehri ends 10 minutes before the Fajr in the main table, and Iftar begins 12 minutes after Maghrib. For Medan on day 1: Sehri 05:10 and Iftar 18:51. By day 30 those precautionary times have moved to 05:07 and 18:50. Treat the Jafari times as the precautionary practice they are labelled as, and follow your own marja's guidance where it differs.
