Zakat Calculator Saudi Arabia (SAR)

The short-form Saudi Arabia page: everything a payer here needs first, in SAR, without the long guide's full method. Everything here is in SAR: the Nisab converted at reference metal prices, an example calculation in Saudi riyal, the usual ways people pay in Saudi Arabia, and Ramadan 2027 with its timetable links. For the long-form guide with the full method, continue to the Saudi Arabia Zakat guide after this page.

Today's Nisab values in SAR (indicative)

The arithmetic for Saudi Arabia starts per gram: gold at SAR 287, silver at SAR 4, from reference prices of USD 76.42/g and USD 0.98/g at 3.75 SAR per dollar. Multiply up: 87.48 grams of gold puts the gold Nisab at SAR 25,070, and 612.36 grams of silver puts the silver Nisab at SAR 2,250. Treat the pair as today's guide figures; the calculators fetch live prices the moment you use them, and Zakat law judges your wealth against the Nisab of your actual due date, not of the day you happened to read a web page.

A worked example in SAR

Take a concrete case in Saudi Arabia: a resident holds 250 grams of gold — worth about SAR 71,644 at the indicative per-gram price on this page — plus SAR 3,376 in savings. Combined zakatable wealth is SAR 75,019. That clears the Nisab comfortably and, after a full lunar year, the Zakat is 2.5% of the combined figure: SAR 1,875. Notice that the gold is not tested against the gold Nisab on its own here — in a mixed portfolio the assets are valued together in SAR and tested once, which is how the calculators on this page proceed.

Paying Zakat in Saudi Arabia: practical channels

In practice, most payers hand their Zakat over through a few familiar channels: payroll deduction schemes offered by some employers, community collection points and food banks during Ramadan and bank transfer to registered Zakat charities. None of these routes changes what is owed when the net wealth met the Nisab and the 2.5% was applied — so choose for reliability: a channel that identifies eligible recipients properly and transfers ownership fully. If your Zakat leaves Saudi Arabia, confirm the recipient end is genuinely Zakat-eligible rather than a general appeal, and keep the confirmation alongside the PDF report for that year.

What counts as zakatable wealth in Saudi Arabia

The zakatable list for a payer in Saudi Arabia is the universal one — balances, savings, metals in any form, resale stock, business receivables, investments and crypto at market value — with anything held in another currency converted into SAR first. What does not count: the home you live in, your car, furniture and personal effects, and wealth you do not truly own or cannot access. The order never changes in Saudi Arabia: and the worked example above shows the shape of it in Saudi Arabia: 250 grams of gold and a savings balance, combined, tested once, and charged at 2.5% after a hawl.

Ramadan 1448 should begin on Monday 8 February 2027 across Saudi Arabia, pending the sighted crescent which local announcements confirm. The final ten nights open with the Maghrib of 27 February 2027, and Laylat al-Qadr is sought on the odd nights (27 February, 1, 3, 5 and 7 March) with the 27th night opening the evening of Friday 5 March 2027. Other cities in Saudi Arabia with their own calendars: Makkah, Madinah, Jeddah, Dammam, Khobar — browse them all from the Ramadan 2027 timetables index.

Frequently asked questions

What is the gold Nisab in SAR?

On reference prices, SAR 25,070 for 87.48 grams of gold priced at SAR 287 the gram. Gold trades daily, and the calculator's live SAR value on your due date is the binding one. The gold threshold is the higher of the two Nisabs; in Saudi Arabia that is SAR 2,250 at the same reference prices.

Which Nisab should I use in Saudi Arabia — gold or silver?

With cash and mixed holdings, the widely recommended standard is silver — SAR 2,250 at reference prices because it obligates more wealth and benefits more poor people. Wealth held purely as gold is a different case: there, all schools test against the gold threshold (SAR 25,070). If your wealth sits between the two thresholds, the choice changes your duty, so it is worth a question to a scholar you trust — the calculator shows both figures so the conversation starts from real numbers.

When is Zakat due for payers in Saudi Arabia?

Your due date is personal, not national: of the day your wealth first reached the Nisab in Saudi Arabia. Count it in lunar years of 354 days; so the Gregorian date moves about eleven days earlier each year. If you pay in Ramadan for the multiplied reward, as many in Saudi Arabia do, provided an earlier hawl is not left unpaid in the meantime; advance payment is valid, delay without excuse is not.

Can I pay Zakat online from Saudi Arabia?

Online payment from Saudi Arabia is well established; what matters is the destination, not the medium. Two conditions govern it: the recipient must fall within the eight categories of Quran 9:60, and ownership of the SAR amount must genuinely transfer to them or their agent. Keep the platform's confirmation with your PDF report for Saudi Arabia, and keep both together for next year's reconciliation.

Where can I find Sehri and Iftar times for Saudi Arabia in Ramadan 2027?

Open the Ramadan 2027 timetable for Saudi Arabia: starting 8 February 2027. Capital times are the reference, not the last word — across Saudi Arabia, minutes shift with longitude, and your local mosque's published times win any close argument.
