Makkah Ramadan Calendar 2027 — Sehri & Iftar Times

For Makkah, the table below prints every fasting day of Ramadan 1448 AH — giving the daily fasting times in Makkah for all 30 days of Ramadan 1448 AH, from 8 February 2027 to Tue, 9 Mar 2027. Expected boundaries for Saudi Arabia: a first fast on Monday 8 February 2027, subject to the crescent, and Eid al-Fitr around 9–10 March 2027. The shape of the month in Makkah: the fast begins at 12 hours 37 minutes on day 1 (Fajr 05:37, Maghrib 18:14) and ends at 13 hours 9 minutes on day 30 (Fajr 05:19, Maghrib 18:28). The calculation point is Makkah (21.39, 39.86) and the method is Umm Al-Qura University, Makkah (Asia/Riyadh) — treat the rows as exact for Makkah and as a close guide elsewhere in Saudi Arabia.

Each row of the Makkah table is one fast: begin it at Fajr (05:37 on day 1, drifting to 05:19 by day 30), end it at Maghrib, and let Sehri finish a few minutes before the Fajr figure as a precaution. Nothing is eaten or drunk from Fajr until Maghrib, the fast is then broken at Iftar, classically with dates and water before the prayer. The abstinence in Makkah lasts 12 hours 37 minutes at the month's opening and 13 hours 9 minutes at its close. The drift is the reason the table exists row by row: across the month Fajr travels 18 minutes and Maghrib 14 minutes in Makkah, so a first-week printout is measurably wrong by the fourth week. The most charged nights of the month fall inside this table — the last ten nights begin at Maghrib on 27 February 2027, and Laylat al-Qadr is sought on the odd nights beginning at Maghrib on 27 February, 1, 3, 5 and 7 March, with the 27th night of Ramadan beginning at Maghrib on 5 March; in Makkah that night's fast has run from Fajr 05:21 to Maghrib 18:27.

Hanafi, Shafi'i, Maliki and Hanbali times in Makkah

The madhab selector on the live page exists for exactly one column. The Hanafi, Shafi'i, Maliki and Hanbali schools all begin the fast at Fajr and end it at Maghrib, so Sehri and Iftar in Makkah are the same 05:37 and 18:14 on day 1 for every Sunni worshipper. Asr is the difference: 15:49 on day 1 for Shafi'i, Maliki and Hanbali (shadow equal to length), 16:38 for Hanafi (shadow twice the length), a gap of 49 minutes that widens or narrows only slightly by day 30 (15:54 against 16:48, 54 minutes). On the live page, choosing your madhab re-labels the table and the PDF calendar to your Asr; this static table simply prints both, side by side, so the choice is visible rather than hidden.

Jafari Sehri and Iftar times in Makkah

Jafari (Shia) times are shown in their own tab on the live page, not mixed into the table above. Following the customary precaution, Sehri is completed 10 minutes before Fajr and Iftar is taken 12 minutes after Maghrib: in Makkah on day 1 that is Sehri by 05:27 and Iftar at 18:26, and on day 30 Sehri by 05:09 and Iftar at 18:40. Where your own marja's ruling differs from the 10/12-minute convention, follow that ruling; the tab exists to make the common practice easy to find, not to settle a point of taqlid.

Duas for Sehri and Iftar

Dua at Sehri (intention): Wa bi-sawmi ghadin nawytu min shahri Ramadan — "I intend to keep the fast for tomorrow in the month of Ramadan." Dua at Iftar: Allahumma inni laka sumtu wa bika aamantu wa 'alayka tawakkaltu wa 'ala rizqika aftartu — "O Allah, I fasted for You, I believe in You, I trust in You, and I break my fast with the provision You have given." Keep both short duas by the table in Makkah: the first is said quietly with the intention before Fajr (05:37 on day 1), the second at the moment of Iftar, with dates and water, before the Maghrib prayer. In the last ten nights add the Laylat al-Qadr dua taught by the Prophet: Allahumma innaka 'afuwwun tuhibbul-'afwa fa'fu 'anni — "O Allah, You are Pardoning and You love pardon, so pardon me."

Notes on this calendar

How this Makkah calendar was calculated: calculation method Umm Al-Qura University, Makkah, calculation point Makkah (Asia/Riyadh). Fajr and Isha rest on the method's sun angles; Sunrise, Dhuhr, Asr and Maghrib follow the sun's actual position over Makkah. Times are printed to the minute, as calculated; a one-minute precaution at Sehri and Iftar is a long-standing local practice in many communities, and your mosque's timetable — which may already include it — takes precedence in any close call.

The thirtieth row is insurance, not a promise. Ramadan closes at 29 days if the new crescent is sighted on that evening, and only runs to the Tue, 9 Mar 2027 row — Fajr 05:19, Maghrib 18:28 in Makkah — if it is not. Printing both endings is the only honest way to publish the table in advance. If Saudi Arabia's start is announced a day later than 8 February 2027, the whole table shifts by one row — the times move with the dates. And where another timetable disagrees with this one, expect the difference at Fajr (05:37 here on day 1) or Isha (20:14), the two times the Umm Al-Qura University, Makkah angles govern, rather than at Maghrib, which every method reads straight off the sunset.

Finally, a practical word for people whose days are long or whose work is physical: the fast in Makkah runs from 12 hours 37 minutes at its shortest (day 1) to 13 hours 9 minutes at its longest (day 30), and your own situation — illness, medication, pregnancy, travel — may carry a ruling of its own. The exemptions, and the Fidya and Qaza that follow from them, are covered in the guides linked below; when in doubt, ask a scholar rather than abandoning the fast or harming your health. May Allah accept your fasting, your prayers and your charity throughout the month.

Frequently asked questions

When does Ramadan 2027 start in Makkah?

The expected first fast in Makkah is Monday 8 February 2027, pending the moon sighting that confirms it. If the crescent is not sighted on the expected evening, shift every row by one day; the drift across the month in Makkah is gradual — Fajr moves 18 minutes earlier in total — so no day's times change abruptly.

What are the Sehri and Iftar times in Makkah on the first day of Ramadan 2027?

The first Sehri deadline in Makkah is 05:37 on Mon, 8 Feb 2027 — and that first fast ends at Maghrib 18:14. Eat and drink before that time; the fast then runs 12 hours 37 minutes until Maghrib. Across the thirty rows the Sehri deadline travels from 05:37 to 05:19, which is why the table prints every day separately.

Which calculation method does the Makkah Ramadan calendar use?

Times here follow the Umm Al-Qura University, Makkah method for Makkah (Asia/Riyadh), which is the convention customarily used for this part of Saudi Arabia. The method matters most at the day's edges — Fajr (05:37 on day 1) and Isha (20:14) — since Dhuhr, Asr and Maghrib track the visible sun. Communities and mosques occasionally adjust by a minute or two for precaution, so treat your local mosque's timetable as final where it differs slightly. A branded PDF calendar for Makkah, in the madhab you select, can be downloaded from the live version of this page.

Why are there two Asr times for Makkah, and which one should I use?

Only Asr changes with the madhab in Makkah; Fajr (Sehri) and Maghrib (Iftar) are identical for everyone. On day 1 the Shafi'i, Maliki and Hanbali Asr is 15:49, while the Hanafi Asr is 16:38 — 49 minutes later. The difference comes from the shadow rule: the first three schools begin Asr when an object's shadow equals its length (besides the noon shadow), while the Hanafi school waits until the shadow is twice the length. Follow the madhab you normally pray by, and use the same column all month so your Taraweeh and Iftar routine stays consistent.

What is the longest fast in Makkah during Ramadan 2027?

In Makkah the month peaks on day 30: 13 hours 9 minutes from Fajr 05:19 to Maghrib 18:28 (Tue, 9 Mar 2027). The shortest is day 1 at 12 hours 37 minutes, and day 1 runs 12 hours 37 minutes against day 30's 13 hours 9 minutes. Because the month falls in late winter at Makkah's latitude (21.4), daylight is lengthening through Ramadan: each week the fast starts a little earlier and ends a little later than the week before.

What are the Jafari (Shia) Sehri and Iftar times in Makkah?

On the Jafari fiqh convention used alongside this calendar, Sehri is taken 10 minutes before Fajr as a precaution and Iftar is taken 12 minutes after Maghrib. For Makkah on day 1: Sehri 05:27 and Iftar 18:26. By day 30 those precautionary times have moved to 05:09 and 18:40. The main table itself is unchanged — it prints the Fajr and Maghrib every fiqh starts from, and the Jafari figures are a clearly labelled adjustment to those two moments only; Asr, Dhuhr and Isha are not moved.
